Spotsy officer shoots, kills pit bull
A pit bull was shot and killed by a Spotsylvania County detective after an officer was attacked during an arrest Thursday evening.
Capt. Jeff Pearce of the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office said detectives located a man who was wanted on three felony warrants in the Timbers subdivision in the Chancellor area around 8 p.m.
Detectives were in the 300 block of Burman Lane trying to take the man into custody when he attempted to escape, Pearce said, and a nearby pit bull began to attack.
